Native plants have thrived locally for thousands of years and are well-suited to the climate and soil. Many tolerate drought and climates with wet winters and dry summers. They offer habitat, food, and nesting sites for birds, insects, amphibians, and other wildlife.
Landscaping with native plants is easier and more cost-effective than using non-native species, which often require extra water, chemicals, and effort. Natives thrive in local climates, need minimal maintenance, and are naturally pest-resistant. They also support beneficial insects that help pollinate flowers and control pests, contributing to effective Integrated Pest Management.
