Blue-eyed grass is not technically a grass but a native that has flat, grass-like leaves. The blue to violet flowers with yellow centers start to bloom as early as April all the way through August, even September. Blue-eyed grass thrives in wet meadows and near wetland areas but can tolerate drier summer conditions once established. The semi-evergreen foliage create small tufts that can be viewed almost year round. It spreads slowly by seed and rhizomes and can be divided as clumps grow larger.
