What: The “Train the Trainer” is a 2-day course taught in Spanish or English by trainers from the Washington State Department of Agriculture. This is a hands-on and interactive course designed to train agricultural employers, farm managers, supervisors and individuals on how to successfully administer in-house Worker Protection Standards and safety training of agricultural workers and pesticide handlers. It provides individuals with the knowledge and tools to conduct practical pesticide safety training that complies with state and federal requirements of the EPA’s Worker Protection Standard (WPS).

  • First day: The group is divided into two smaller groups that rotate though four, 80-minute training modules.
  • Second Day: Participants conduct a series of hands-on activities that provide them with a comprehensive review of the training points required by WPS to be covered during pesticide training. The last portion of the workshop is devoted to offering participants the opportunity to become a WSDA WPS-Certified Trainer

All course materials, coffee, pastries, lunch ,snacks provided

There will be 8 pesticide credits available for both Oregon and Washington.
